Improvement of sound field reproduction accuracy by spherical speaker array with radial errors

In this paper, we investigate a method to accurately reproduce a sound field based on higher order ambisonics even when speakers are placed at positions that deviate from the spherical surface. We evaluated the effect of radial displacement on reproduction accuracy of the proposed driving function by calculating a SNR between the reproduced sound field and target sound field. Computer simulations show that the sound field reproduced by the proposed method achieves a SNR of 20 dB even under the condition of radial error of 20% of the speaker array radius. |
