Comparison of 6DoF Estimation Methods for Partially Shaded Faces in Eye Tracking Autostereoscopic 3D Displays

We implement and compare two pupil pose estimation methods for an eye-tracking-based autostereoscopic 3D display that handles partially occluded faces. To ensure stable accuracy despite variations in occlude shape and optical properties, both methods place markers on the occlude. The color-coded method estimates the pose of a 2D image marker with color-encoded dot patterns using a monocular camera. The infrared stereo method determines the pose of spherical infrared retroreflective markers via triangulation and an orthogonal coordinate system using an infrared stereo camera. Accuracy is evaluated by rotating marker sets with an automated stage and comparing error vectors between the ground truth and estimates. |
