A research on immersive enhancement by augmenting MR movies with particle effects

In recent years, the development and spread of MR devices has been remarkable, and they are becoming more familiar. In this study, we will verify whether the particle effects included in movie content can be expanded around the images played in MR goggles to enhance the sense of immersion by comparing it with existing research. Participants watched movies using the proposed method and the existing method, and answered a questionnaire about the sense of immersion. Experiments were conducted using two movies, and the improvement in the sense of immersion was analyzed using the results of the questionnaire responses from 60 and 21 participants. The analysis results suggested that the proposed method enhances the sense of immersion. These results showed that expanding video content may provide a new immersive experience in the entertainment field. |
