A Proposal for a Sound Effect Retrieval System Using Onomatopoeia in Cartoons as Input

We propose a function to provide cartoon-specific onomatopoeia as sound effects, and aimed to realize this function. Specifically, we develop a method to convert onomatopoeia into text using OCR technology, search for sound effects based on similarity calculations using the Levenshtein distance, and then provide appropriate sound sources. It was confirmed that this method can provide sound effects close to the character image of onomatopoeia. |
