This paper describes the first clinical trial using 8K laparoscopic surgery system with real-time telementoring. This system provides live 8K video of laparoscopic surgery via a communication network to an experienced doctor, who returns instructions to less-experienced doctors operating on-site. We give a report on the world's first clinical trial using the system connecting Tokyo and Osaka via a high-speed leased line. |
