Shape control synthesis of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles

Magnetic nanoparticles are magnetic particles with diameters ranging from a few nm to several tens of nm,
which have been studied in various fields in recent years because of their numerous responses to magnetic fields. Iron oxide
nanoparticles are important nanomaterials because of their ease of preparation and biocompatibility, and have attracted
significant attention in biomedical applications as MRI contrast agents, drug delivery vehicles, and heating mediators in
thermotherapy[1]. When magnetic nanoparticles are exposed to an AC magnetic field, they generate heat in the surrounding
region in relation to hysteresis loss[1]. The heating response of magnetic nanoparticles depends on intrinsic parameters such as
particle size, morphology, and magnetic properties, as well as external parameters of the applied magnetic field, and it is
expected that the heating response can be enhanced by identifying the optimal parameters, size and shape[1]. |
