Rotational perception of concave arc 3D image with single or asymmetric facial parts

(in English) In this study, we clarify the perception of rotation of arc 3D image with concave depth even with single or asymmetric facial parts at different observation angles. The arc 3D image with concave depth is the one in which the depth position of the facial parts is the opposite of the original facial concavity and convexity. A concave object induces an illusion like the hollow-face illusion, resulting in the perception of rotation by changing the observation angle. Concave arc 3D image with single facial part is perceived to rotate by changing the observation angle. On the other hand, the perception of rotation direction is limited when the facial parts is in an asymmetric position. This research is expected to expand the application of arc 3D displays to various fields such as animation and posters.
