AR Tabletop 3D Display Observable From All Around Using Holographic Optical Elements

For tabletop displays，it is desirable that multiple people can simultaneously observe the display from all around with the naked eye．Recently，augmented reality (AR) contents have been attracting attention．By combining a table-top 3D display with AR display, it is possible to superimpose a displayed image on a real object, and it is expected to be used more effectively for advertising and exhibitions. Therefore，We propose an AR tabletop 3D display that can be simultaneously observed by multiple people from all around with the naked eye．First，a holographic optical element is rotated with a vertical diffuse reflection function．Then，a high-speed projector is used to project the image in each viewpoint direction． We created a actual device and confirmed that it was possible to display a table-top AR 3D display. |
