A Study on Preamble Signal for Enhancement of Synchronization Performance of TDD-based FPU

(in English) The authors have been working on miniaturizing the TDD (Time Division Duplex)-based FPU compliant with the ARIB STD-B75 in order to install bidirectional FPUs on drones. In this paper, we summarized the problems with conventional synchronization preamble signals that detect the beginning of a TDD subframe and proposed new preamble signals using Zadoff-Chu sequences to improve synchronization performance. The result of computer simulation showed that the proposed method can achieve higher cross-correlation peaks than the conventional method when the number of transmitting streams was set to 2, while maintaining the characteristics of the conventional method such as signal periodicity and individual detection.
