[Poster Presentation] A High-Speed and High-Resolution Single-Slope ADC using a Stepless Acceleration Ramp and a Distributed Ramp Signal Generator with Multiple Integral Circuit

(in English) In compact high-resolution image sensors, both high resolution and high speed in ADCs is being demanded. So far, a method to steepen the ramp signal of a single-slope ADC by acceleration manner and other methods have been proposed. However, the conventional acceleration ramp methods have problems of the ramp signal distortion at the slope switching points and degradation of nonlinear characteristics due to differences in ramp signal propagation delays between columns. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a stepless acceleration ramp system by way of a multiple integration circuit that uses a distributed configuration of a ramp generator circuit such that it doesn’t generate discontinuities on the ramp signal change points.
