Development of a Gait Authentication Method Robust to Differences in Clothing Using 2D Pose Estimation

(in English) In this study, we developed a gait authentication method robust to clothing differences. Existing gait recognition methods had issues with accuracy due to clothing differences. Our proposed method creates a model that masks arm posture estimation information, which is greatly affected by clothing differences and occlusion, to obtain robust gait features. Using cumulative distribution, we calculated the probability of the same person and found that the average accuracy improved by 5.7% compared to unmasked cases. In the future, we aim to automatically select the masked parts according to conditions and apply it under various conditions.
