A technique has been proposed to embed data in an image, print it, and retrieve the embedded data from an image captured with a mobile terminal camera. In order to evaluate the performance of this technique, it is necessary to create data for evaluation by printing and capturing images, which is extremely burdensome. Therefore, an evaluation method that simulates the printing and capturing process has been proposed. In addition, implementation as an application that runs on a smartphone is also burdensome. In this paper, we propose an improved method to simulate the effects of printing and capturing by generating a pseudo-captured image from a data-embedded image. We improve the performance of the conventional method by modifying the image generation network to provide an environment that more closely resembles actual conditions. For making the application, we propose a method to convert the algorithm code written in MATLAB to C++ code using MATLAB Coder and introduce it in the application. This technique enables all processes, from algorithm development to application implementation, to be maintained and managed in MATLAB, reducing the burden on development. |
