In this paper, we study object detection with split images based on signal range for single exposure high dynamic range image sensors (SEHDR-CIS).
Since the SEHDR-CIS output is a 16-bit HDR image, it is generally tone-mapped to an 8-bit HDR image and image recognition is performed using a DNN (Deep Neural Network) trained on the 8-bit SDR (standard dynamic range) image dataset.
In this study, we propose a method in which an HDR image is divided into three images considering the HDR image structure, image recognition is conducted in parallel with DNNs, and recognition result is synthesized based on confidence score. |
