Experimental Evaluation of High Output Power DC Rectenna Array Using High-Density Array Antenna

This study proposes a high output power DC rectenna array using a high-density array antenna. By densely arraying compact rectennas, a large-scale rectenna array is realized. In this paper, a prototype 9-element rectenna array is fabricated and measured to confirm the characteristics of the proposed high-density rectenna array. In order to exclude the performance variation of rectenna units, one small rectenna and eight antennas with a dummy load are arranged on an array board. When the element spacing is 0.4 wavelengths, DC output power of a single rectenna becomes small, but the DC output per rectenna area is the largest. It is experimentally confirmed that the total DC output power of a rectenna array is improved by densely arranging rectenna units. |
