In this paper, attending to the agriculture as our major industry, especially of postwar era Japan, we research some changes in statistics about the number of farm households and kinds of their business forms (full-/part-time management). Based on that, we propose some new ideas and ways for agricultural promotion in New Normal era, notably considering after the decline of the New Coronavirus (COVID-19). Then we analyze several cases of small-scale farms effectively working with government policies in the provincial area, and propose “tele-agriculture” as a new practical way for the sustainable development of agriculture going forward. Here we focus on the second-rank classification of farmers, in which the farmers' main source of income comes not from farming, but from other jobs, and examine their roles. By actively utilizing effective IT tools as part of the DX (Digital transformation) era, we propose the possibility of promotion and revitalization for small-scale farms. |
