Field Trial of MIMO System with Adaptive Transmission Control for Next Generation Mobile Relay FPU

In order to expand a capacity of mobile relay FPUs, the authors have been researching a 4x4 MIMO system with adaptive transmission control that changes beam-forming weights, bit and power allocation, and turbo-coding rates in accordance with channel conditions. We conducted a field trial to verify a handover between multiple base stations, which was necessary for wide-area live production. The result shows that our system demonstrated a seamless handover between two base stations, leading to the expansion of transmission area. We also introduce our efforts to apply the system to remote production by enabling an IP signal transmission function, utilizing a TDD scheme. |
