Analysis and visualization of pitch-by-pitch vocalization time of J-POP vocals

Comparing previous and recent J-POP hit songs, the authors discuss the hypothesis that there are more leaps in phrases in recent years, and that both male and female vocalists have a larger number of songs with a higher pitch range. In order to verify this hypothesis, this study compares the characteristics of the pitch distribution among songs by extracting the pitches of vocalists and visualizing the pitch distribution as a histogram, and analyzes the difference between songs that are easy to sing and songs that are difficult to sing. In addition, we plan to calculate the similarity among the histograms to obtain the distribution of the pitch distribution and to discuss the trends of hit songs. |
