A Note on Inspection Action Classification Using First and Third Person Video of Engineers Inspecting Bridges

In this paper, we propose an inspection action classification method using first and third person videos of engineers inspecting bridges.
In the proposed method, the features of objects and structures during the inspection are extracted by applying an object recognition method to the first-person videos, and the inspection actions of the engineer are estimated.
Then the features of the engineer's movements during the inspection are extracted by applying an action recognition method to the third-person videos, and the inspection actions are also estimated.
Finally, the final classification result is obtained by integrating the estimation results obtained from each video.
The proposed method achieves highly accurate classification of inspection actions by utilizing the information of inspection actions.
We confirm the accuracy of the proposed method by experiments and discuss the results. |
