An advanced ISDB-T system has been developed in order to provide next-generation terrestrial broadcasting services such as 4K8K for fixed reception and 2K for mobile reception within single channel. For implementing the practical service, evaluation methods of the received signal are required. MER (Modulation Error Ratio) is one of the indexes to know the signal quality of the received signal. In ISDB-T, MER has been generally used to evaluate the signal quality. However, in the advanced ISDB-T, it is inconvenient to use MER for evaluating the signal quality since it loses the linearity against C/N due to the higher-order modulation scheme. In this paper, two methods to solve this non-linearity problem are proposed. The proposed methods are evaluated by the computer simulation. The result showed significant improvement of the linearity. |
