Gaze Analysis of Forklift Operator in Warehouse Using Eye Camera

In japan, approximately 2,000 occupational accidents of forklifts occurred every year. In this study, we focused on human error in forklift operations as the most frequent cause of accidents. Since lack of scanning behavior for checking safety is dominant factors of traffic accidents, we measured 15 forklift operators’ gaze behavior in real warehouse environment. In this paper, we classified 15 operators into 2 groups; good operators’ group and normal operators’ group. By comparing gaze behavior among 2 groups, we investigate what kinds of situation normal operator tend to behave risky. As a result of analysis, we found out that normal operators’ group tended to pay less attention to rearward for reducing collision risk as well as checking backward for preventing collapse cargo than good operators’ group when forklift turns in reverse. |
