Ultrasound imaging is widely used not only for medical applications but also for nondestructive testing and environmental measurement.
We have previously proposed a super-resolution ultrasound imaging method that has a higher resolution than the transmission pulse width or the pulse width after pulse compression.
The basic principle of this method is to avoid transmission of echo coherency from multiple imaging targets and use transmission and reception of multiple pulses with different carriers so that each target echo spans a linear independent one-dimensional complex signal space.
The high resolution of this method is with respect to the propagation direction (range direction) of ultrasonic waves.
When applying this method to array transducers, variations can be considered according to the beamforming method.
Therefore, several derivative methods have been proposed in consideration of avoiding frame rate reduction due to multiple pulse transmissions and improving resolution in the lateral direction.
In this paper, we organize them and explain their features. |
