The mainstream of the music media purchase has moved from discs such as CDs to distribution via the Internet. Also, the mainstream of environments for music listening has moved to small devices such as smartphones. As a result, we expect the increased possibility of dissemination of new music recommendation technologies. Small devices such as smartphones can connect to the Internet anytime and equip with various sensors. We can utilize these sensors to record individual activity as life logs. There have been techniques for estimating user's preferences and habits by analyzing life logs and recommending music accordingly. We are developing a music recommendation system that takes into account the ordinariness of users determined from the location information recorded on life logs. This study is based on our hypothesis that users often select music based on their ordinariness. This paper introduces our plan and on-going implementation. |
