Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an effective multi-carrier modulation technique for wideband digital communications due to its robustness for multi-path fading channels. However, for high-speed moving reception, inter-carrier interference (ICI) due to Doppler shift causes series degradation on transmission performance. Recently, a new method that combines Compressed Sensing (CS) based channel estimation and ICI suppression has been proposed to improve the performance for high-speed moving systems. On the other hand, high computational complexity due to the solution to CS becomes a new challenge. In the report, therefore, a new channel estimator by using modified matching pursuit (MMP) is proposed that can effectively reduce the computational complexity as well as keep accurate estimation performance, comparing with the conventional methods. The computer simulation demonstrates its effect for channel estimation in OFDM systems. |
